I have occasionally asked a European what their original national roots are, and they generally don’t much care for the conversation (with the exception of the Italians).
They point out that the reason Americans whose families have been here for 150 years try to claim their Irish or Swedish or German roots is because we are so unrooted in our own country.
By contrast, someone whose family has migrated around Europe is generally content to identify with the country where their family has been for a generation or two.
Even though they have migrated, they are not rootless for the most part.
In other words, the sensation of being rooted (or not) seems to be more a function of mindset than transience.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with in terms of a cure for the problem.
Arthur Burk
In my case, arriving in Heathrow in 1982 felt like I was coming home. There was a clear sense of belonging in England even though my ancestors had migrated to NZ in the mid 1800s. When I returned to NZ – I felt I did not really belong there. Until – a prophetic conference in 2017 when I was given a traditional Maori greeting by 20 or so fellow prophetic people and since then I have felt connected in a way to this land that I’ve never felt before. So grateful for your teaching on Redemptive Gifts of nations, Arthur. Both Maori and British have a significant role to play in unpacking together His design for our nation. Please pray for us.
Arthur Burk probably met with immigrated Europeans (there are plenty of them all over Europe, more numerous than natives, I think); I’m one of the old stock ; my family have been living in Toulouse for more than 2 centuries as far as documents go ( probably much more) in the same town house ; people like my family are very much interested in their ancestors and know a lot about them and history as a whole. For instance, my father’s family was protestant and at the Revocation of the Edit de Nantes a part left for England in order to keep up their faith and others became (I’m sorry to say 😦 ) catholic. I’m afraid I’m “pas très catholique” 😀
I greatly appreciate what “Beyond the Horizon” and A. Burk are teaching because I see proof of their validity all around me

I love what Henrietta shared especially since I also have French Protestant roots that go way back to the 1600’s. my ancestors also went to England and then onto the East coast of a fledgling America. I have been attracted to France and everything French since I was a little girl. Eventually I went to study in France for two years during college and basically always thought, “yes, this is where I want to spend the rest of my life.” And tht is what I’ve been doing for the last 33 years of my life! Amazing how our spirit can truly be lead by Holy Spirit on new/old paths like that!
